Pinch ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you save and organize bookmarks with AI-powered tagging and categorization. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you save a bookmark, we collect:

• Page URL and title — to identify the saved content
• Page text content (excerpt) — sent to AI for analysis, not stored in full
• Image URLs — thumbnail references from the page
• AI-generated metadata — tags, summary, keywords, and content type produced by AI analysis
• Your notes — any notes you manually add to a bookmark

We also store your Google account email address for authentication purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

• AI analysis — Page content is sent to third-party AI services (DeepSeek, Zhipu) to generate tags, summaries, and categorization. Only the text excerpt and page metadata are sent; no personal information is included in AI requests.
• Search and organization — Your bookmarks, tags, and projects are stored to provide search and filtering functionality.
• Preference insights — AI analyzes your bookmark collection to surface patterns and comparisons.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Supabase cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). Data is associated with your authenticated user account and protected by Row Level Security — only you can access your own data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Page content excerpts are sent to AI providers solely for analysis and are not retained by those providers beyond the API request lifecycle.

5. Data Retention

Your bookmcount data are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual bookmarks at any time through the extension. To delete all your data, contact us at the email below.

6. Your Rights

• Access — View all your saved bookmarks through the extension's side panel
• Delete — Remove any bookmark at any time
• Export — Contact us to request a full export of your data
• Account deletion — Contact us to permanently delete your account and all associated data

7. Permissions Explained

• activeTab — Read the current page content for AI analysis when you choose to save
• contextMenus — Provide right-click "Save to Pinch" options
• sidePanel — Display your bookmark collection in a side panel
• storage — Store your authentication session and local preferences
• identity — Obtain the extension's redirect URL for Google OAuth login
• tabs — Open and monitor tabs during the OAuth login flow
• host_permissions (all URLs) — Extract page content from any website you choose to bookmark

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
